Pickleball courts in Guadalajara: places and areas

How many pickleball places and courts our directory records in Guadalajara, which areas have the most, and what to ask the club.

In this guide

Where are the pickleball courts in Guadalajara? There is no official census of sports courts, so this guide counts what is recorded in our directory. For Guadalajara and the municipalities around it, that is today 4 places with pickleball and at least 0 courts counted, spread over 2 directory cities.

Every figure is calculated from the same data the pickleball-by-city pages use, so if you open one you will see the same number. They are minimums: pickleball is a young sport in Mexico and an area may have more courts than anyone has recorded yet, which is why it pays to confirm with the club before you go.

How many pickleball courts there are in Guadalajara

We count two things separately. A place is a club, sports centre, public sports ground or park with at least one pickleball court; a court is each individual court recorded. A club with four courts counts as one place and four courts, and sometimes a place is recorded without anyone knowing how many courts it has, so the courts counted are a minimum.

Here we group Guadalajara with the neighbouring directory cities that make up its urban area: 6 in all, of which 2 have at least one pickleball place. That is our way of reading the directory, not an official metropolitan-area boundary. Across all sports, that same area adds up to 186 places and 345 courts counted; pickleball in Guadalajara is 3% of the 138 pickleball places the directory records across Mexico.

The data is as of September 25, 2026. It comes from OpenStreetMap, the open map its contributors edit, and from public sources we research club by club. They are not clubs verified by MeetAndPlay.

Areas and municipalities with the most pickleball courts

These are the 2 cities or municipalities in the area with the most pickleball places, with their courts counted:

  • 1. Zapopan: places: 3, courts: 0
  • 2. Guadalajara: places: 1, courts: 0

The area with the most places is Zapopan, with 3, which is 75% of the pickleball places in Guadalajara; Guadalajara follows with 1. When a city shows zero courts, it means it has places recorded but nobody has counted their courts, not that it has none.

Pickleball does not always gather where the new clubs are: it often shares facilities with other sports, in clubs, sports grounds and parks, and the directory counts them all alike. If your neighbourhood is not listed, check the neighbouring areas too, because in a big city half an hour of travel can change the choice a lot.

Surface and access: clubs, sports grounds and public courts

Pickleball is played with a solid paddle and a light perforated ball, on a court smaller than a tennis court. The surface is usually hard, concrete or acrylic, and in many places pickleball shares space with other courts: a tennis or multi-use court may carry pickleball lines and a net of its own. That is why one physical court can serve more than one sport.

The directory stores the surface for only some of the pickleball places, and access (whether the court is public or belongs to a club you must join or pay) for only a few. With so little data, a figure for covered courts or public courts in Guadalajara would describe what someone happened to note, not what exists, so we do not calculate one. If a listing carries the surface or the access, it shows on its page.

Before you go, ask the club three things: whether the court is permanently marked for pickleball or set up with portable lines and a net, whether it is covered or outdoor, and whether there are lights for playing at night. At a sports ground or park, also ask whether you must be a member or pay to enter, and whether the court is booked or used first come, first served.

Pickleball, padel and tennis in the area

To put pickleball in context: in the same Guadalajara area the directory records 4 places with pickleball, 29 with padel and 58 with tennis. If your group wants to try another racket sport, the sport-by-city pages show the places and a map.

How it compares with other cities

With the same method, these are the urban areas that have a pickleball guide, with their places and courts counted. The gap between them reflects what is recorded, not necessarily how many courts exist:

  • Mexico City: places: 10, courts: 9, cities with pickleball: 2
  • Querétaro: places: 7, courts: 7, cities with pickleball: 2
  • Puebla: places: 6, courts: 0, cities with pickleball: 2
  • Guadalajara: places: 4, courts: 0, cities with pickleball: 2
  • León: places: 4, courts: 0, cities with pickleball: 1

Practical tips for playing pickleball in Guadalajara

These tips hold for any club in the area; exact prices and hours are set by each club and change, which is why we do not quote them here.

  • Ask ahead. With few courts recorded, it pays to ask the club which days and at what time pickleball is played. The guide to how much it costs to rent a pickleball court in Mexico explains how courts are charged and what to ask.
  • Start with the basics. If it is your first time, the guide to how to play pickleball takes you through it step by step, and the pickleball rules guide clears up the serve, scoring and the kitchen zone.
  • Bring the right gear. A suitable paddle and balls make the game more comfortable. The guide to basic pickleball equipment explains what you need to start.
  • Mind the heat and humidity. Playing in full sun calls for water, breaks and cooler hours, especially on a hard court with no shade.
  • Confirm before you leave. Hours, prices, surface, roof and availability change. The directory tells you where to look; the club tells you whether there is a court.

How to find your court and a partner

Every city in this guide links to its pickleball page and its courts page, with the places and a map. MeetAndPlay is a directory, not a booking service: to reserve an hour you go straight to the club. Pickleball is played in singles or doubles, so if you need an opponent or a partner, the MeetAndPlay community helps you find someone to play with; and if you know of a court that is missing, you can ask for it to be added.

In short

As of September 25, 2026, the directory records 4 pickleball places and at least 0 courts in Guadalajara and its area, with Zapopan in front. These are minimum figures that change every time the directory is updated, and this guide is recalculated with it. Use the numbers to decide where to start, and ask the club about surface and access before you go.

Frequently asked questions

How many pickleball courts are there in Guadalajara?
According to our directory as of September 25, 2026, the Guadalajara area has 4 places with pickleball and at least 0 courts counted. These are minimum figures: they only count what someone has recorded.
Are the pickleball courts in Guadalajara public or club courts?
The directory does not record access for enough places to give a figure, so we do not calculate one. If a place listing carries it, it shows there; if not, ask the club, and ask too whether the court is covered and whether it is set up with a portable net.
Can I book the court from MeetAndPlay?
No. MeetAndPlay is a directory and a community for finding people to play with, not a booking service. To reserve an hour, contact the club directly; each one uses its own method.
