Where to play in Mérida

After Cancún, the southeast city with the most confirmed padel — and the biggest single club in the whole audit.

8 clubs checked · Yucatán

The lay of the land

Mérida has the biggest padel club in this audit: Épica Academia, 16 courts out on Zamná, which also runs pickleball. Behind it are Área Pádel in the Zona Industrial and Kem Padel in Montebello with 6 courts each, Sport Center in Xcanatún with 8, Prime Padel in Xcumpich with 4, and Luum with 3. Club Campestre de Yucatán puts tennis, padel, squash and pickleball on one site, but it is members-only.

How booking works in Mérida today

Mérida is Playtomic country: Épica, Área, Kem and Prime all book there, and Épica even takes pickleball bookings that way — one of the few places in the country where that happens. The exceptions are Luum, which built its own player registry, and Club Campestre, which appears on Playtomic with an empty calendar; there, booking really is by phone.

What we couldn't confirm

We couldn't work out how Sport Center takes bookings: it appears in several directories but has no site of its own. Nova Padel hasn't opened yet — its booking button still reads "coming soon" — and Mérida's pickleball runs more through Instagram and Facebook groups than through any club with its own calendar.

From a public audit done in September 2026, club by club: each venue's own site, its social accounts and its listing on the booking platforms. We didn't visit the courts. If something's changed or is wrong, tell us and we'll fix it.

Can I already play here with MeetAndPlay?

Not yet. We're starting in Cancún, and that's where the open matches are today. Mérida is on this list because we want to arrive knowing who plays where, not turn up as the new kids.

Guide

Where to play in Mérida: areas, climate and open matches

The guide above covers the Mérida padel clubs we checked one by one. OpenStreetMap shows the other half of the city: most of its places with courts are tennis, and a good share are public sports units or unnamed courts inside housing developments. Here they are by area, so you know where to look for a tennis game — and where to find the padel OSM also maps outside those clubs.

  • Tennis · 26 places
  • Padel · 17 places
  • Pickleball · 1 place
  • 83 courts

Unidades deportivas públicas

A lot of Mérida's mapped tennis is in public sports units and parks. Estadio General Salvador Alvarado is the place with the most tennis courts in the city on OSM. Unidad Deportiva Kukulcán, in Col. Morelos Oriente, is one of the few with an operator and hours on record — the Yucatán state government, Monday to Saturday 7:00 to 20:00 — and it has courts tagged as floodlit plus one padel court. The «Los Héroes» courts are run by the Mérida city council, per OSM, and the Benito Juárez García (Col. San Esteban), Miguel Alemán and Mulsay units round out the network.

Montecristo, Montebello y Altabrisa

Club Cumbres, in Fraccionamiento Montecristo, is the tennis club with the most mapped courts after the stadium, and OSM records its hours as Monday to Sunday 6:00 to 22:00. On Avenida Yucatán there is Sportway, also tennis. In the same stretch OSM marks padel at Go Padel (Fracc. Montebello) and All 4 Padel Club Mérida (Fracc. Altabrisa), the latter with no courts drawn yet.

Caucel, Vía Montejo y Sitpach

The padel OSM has outside the audited clubs is spread out: Pádel Club Caucel to the west, in Fracc. Caucel II and tagged as floodlit; Centro Deportivo Francisco de Montejo in Col. Vía Montejo; and Padel Coriasso out toward Sitpach, to the east. To the north, toward Komchén and the Yucatán Country Club (where OSM places the Merida Open Akron), there are unnamed tennis courts.

How to find an open match (reta)

For tennis, the public sports units are the natural place to put together a pickup game: turn up in the cool hours and ask at the court who needs a fourth for doubles. At a club like Club Cumbres, ask the front desk whether there's a board or a players' group. And if you'd rather arrive with the game already set, post it on MeetAndPlay at the exact place — the «Set up a match here» button on each listing opens the app with that place picked.

Climate: when to play

Mérida has a tropical savanna climate. May is the hottest month, with a mean daily high of 36.7 °C, and the rain falls mostly from June to October. In practice: play early in the morning or after the sun drops, and confirm the lights before going at night — few courts have them tagged on OSM.
