Safety

Safety: play with new people with peace of mind

Tips for meeting players, how levels and badges work, and what we do when someone reports something.

Are you in danger?

If you or someone else is in danger, call the authorities first. MeetAndPlay cannot send help. 089 is the anonymous reporting line.

Meeting new players

  • Play at clubs and public courts, especially the first time.
  • Share your match with someone you trust: where and when you play.
  • If you can, arrive with someone you trust or with your playing partner, and let them know when you arrive and when you leave.
  • Keep the conversation in the app chat until you know the person, and do not pay outside the app to someone you do not know: payments in the app come with a receipt and a refund.
  • If something does not feel right, leave. Reporting and blocking is anonymous.

Levels and verified profiles

Every player has a level per sport. At the start it is the one you declared or were assigned, and then it moves with the matches you play with a result.

“Phone verified” means the number answered a code; we never show it. “Level verified” means a club or coach ran a level test, or we checked a federation licence, in the last year.

If you miss a match or cancel late, it is recorded. Others only see how many no-shows and late cancellations you have from the last 90 days, never the match, the date or who reported it.

Reporting and blocking

In the app, open the menu of a profile, a match, a post or a message and choose “Report”. The category is required; the details are optional. You can block the person in the same step.

A blocked person cannot see your matches or message you, and you can undo it whenever you like. The person you report does not know it was you.

What we do with a report

Each report stays “Under review” until a person on our team reviews it. We tell you when we have reviewed it, without details about the other account, and you can see its status in “My reports” inside the app.

Our first-response target for support is 4 hours. If you want to clarify something about a report, write to us.
