Smart lights
Smart lights: your courts light up when it gets dark, not before
From your club's location we work out each day's sunset. A 10 am booking switches on no lights, and a 5:30 pm booking in January switches them on at dusk.
How it works
Place your club on the map
From the club's location we work out each day's sunrise and sunset, without relying on any outside service.
Turn on «Light only when it's dark»
In the panel you choose the twilight margin: how many minutes before sunset the lights go on and how long after sunrise they go off.
Every slot trimmed to the dark
Each booking's lighting is trimmed to the part of the slot that is actually dark. Indoor courts keep their normal schedule.
See what you saved
The panel shows this week's sunsets and how many hours of light weren't needed over the last few days.
Savings nobody notices on court
Adjusts itself all year
No changing schedules with the seasons: the calculation is redone every day of the year for your club's exact location.
Never in the dark
The twilight margin you choose makes sure the court is already lit when it starts getting dark.
Outdoor courts only
Indoor courts keep their usual schedule: nothing that should be on gets switched off.
Clear numbers
Hours and minutes of light that weren't needed, and how many bookings were checked, in your panel.

What time does it get dark in your city?
Sunset worked out with the same formula the panel uses, for the shortest and the longest day of the year, in each city's local time.
| City | 21 December | 21 June |
|---|---|---|
| Cancún | 6:10 PM | 7:31 PM |
| Mérida | 5:22 PM | 6:42 PM |
| Mexico City | 6:03 PM | 7:17 PM |
| Guadalajara | 6:17 PM | 7:36 PM |
| Monterrey | 5:55 PM | 7:35 PM |
| Tijuana | 4:46 PM | 7:58 PM |
With the default margin, the lights go on 20 minutes before sunset.
Good to know
MeetAndPlay doesn't sell bulbs or controllers: your club's lighting controller, or your provider's, receives the start and end notices for each slot, and smart lights trim them to the dark part. You need the club's location on the map. The margin goes from 0 to 90 minutes; if you leave it blank, we use 20.
Frequently asked questions
- Do I need to change my lights?
- No. Smart lights adjust the notices your lighting controller already receives; the bulbs and the switchboard stay the same.
- What about covered or indoor courts?
- Indoor courts keep the normal lighting schedule. The sunset adjustment only applies to outdoor courts.
- What if it's a cloudy day?
- Raise the twilight margin so the lights come on earlier. You can change it whenever you like from the panel.
