Play in Cancún this week

Tell us which days you're here and we'll show you the open play, open games and clubs for your visit.

When are you coming?

With your dates, the app shows only what falls within your visit and gives you a heads-up three days before you arrive.

Each game shows the languages spoken by the players who have already joined, and you can filter for English speakers.

No partner or group needed. Come on your own, as a pair or with the family: open games match you with players at your level, and the clubs below cover the hotel zone, Playa del Carmen and Tulum. Ask the club about paddle rental, so court shoes may be all you pack.

Open play in Cancún these days

Cancún's clubs haven't posted open play for these days yet. In the app you can also see open games between players.

We only show open events that clubs publish. We never publish the names of the people who sign up.

Playing on vacation

You do not need a membership, a local phone number or a Spanish-speaking friend to play padel, tennis or pickleball in Cancún and the Riviera Maya. Here is what visitors ask us most: what to pack, what you can rent, how to book without an account, how to pay and which level to say you are.

Bring it or rent it

Clubs set their own rules, so ask before you go and get the answer in writing.

Worth packing

  • Court shoes with a non-marking sole. It is the one thing that is hard to fix at the court.
  • Your own paddle or racket if you have one you trust.
  • A cap or visor, sweat-proof sunscreen, light quick-dry clothes, a small towel and more water than you think you need.

Ask the club about

  • Paddle or racket rental, and whether balls are sold or included.
  • Whether the courts are covered or lit, which matters in the midday heat and the afternoon rain.
  • Hotel courts: reception can tell you who may use them, whether you must reserve and whether they lend equipment.

Booking as a guest, no account

On a club's page on MeetAndPlay you can reserve a court as a guest: pick the day and time, leave your name and email, and confirm with the code we email you. There is no account to create and no app to install. Your confirmation email carries a private link to cancel the booking, so keep it. Which times can be booked online depends on the club; where a club only takes bookings by WhatsApp or phone, its page says so, and you should not treat the slot as yours until you have a confirmation with day, hour and court number.

Paying by card

Where a club accepts online payment, you can pay your share by card when you book, in the club's own currency, and split the court between the players. Where it does not, you pay at the desk, and the booking page tells you which one applies before you confirm. Ask the club whether it charges per court or per person, and agree with your group who pays first.

Which level should I pick?

MeetAndPlay uses a 0 to 7 scale, the same range Playtomic uses for padel. Choosing honestly is the difference between a good game and a long afternoon for everyone on court.

Which level should I pick?
MeetAndPlay levelPlaytomicUTR (approx.)On court
Starting (0 to 2)0 to 21 to 3.5New to the sport or back after years. You are learning the rules, the walls (padel) and a steady rally.
Progressing (2 to 3)2 to 33.5 to 5.5You keep a rally going, serve reliably and are starting to play the net and use the glass.
Intermediate (3 to 4)3 to 45.5 to 8Solid on both sides, you place the ball and play to a plan. Most club games sit here.
Advanced (4 to 5)4 to 58 to 11Strong volleys and smashes, good tactics, consistent under pressure. You play tournaments.
Competitive (5 to 7)5 to 711+Ranked or former competitive player. Say so, and expect to be matched with the same.

The numbers are a guide, not a conversion: every platform rates a little differently, UTR rates tennis and pickleball rather than padel, and a rating from another app is a starting point. If in doubt, pick the lower level.

Hours, courts and rates change. Confirm with the venue before you go, and allow extra time: crossing Cancún in rush hour can take half an hour.

Playing in Cancún on vacation: questions

Can I play padel in Cancún without being a member?
Yes. Cancún's padel clubs rent courts by the hour to anyone, so you do not need a membership. Book through the club's booking app, WhatsApp or phone, or as a guest through its page on MeetAndPlay.
Do I need an account to book a court?
No. On a club's page you can reserve as a guest with just your name and email. The confirmation email includes a private link to cancel.
Can I pay by card?
Where a club accepts online payment, yes: you pay your share by card when you book. Other clubs are paid at the desk. The booking page shows which applies before you confirm.
Can I rent a paddle or racket?
Many clubs lend or rent equipment and sell balls, but it varies, and we do not publish rental rates. Ask the club before you go. Court shoes are worth bringing yourself.
I am visiting alone. How do I find people to play with?
Post an open game with the club, the time and your level range, or join one already posted. Each game shows the languages its players speak, and you can filter for English speakers.
What is the best time of day to play?
Early morning or after dark. From May to September the heat and humidity build from mid-morning, and afternoon downpours are common in the rainy season. Covered courts fill up first.
What level should I choose if I have only played on holiday?
Pick the lower of two levels you are unsure about. Our 0 to 7 scale matches Playtomic's, so a Playtomic rating carries over, and the 2-minute level test gives you a number.
Are there courts in Playa del Carmen and Tulum?
Yes. Both have padel venues and Playa del Carmen also has tennis and pickleball. The lists on this page come from our directory and show the courts we have recorded.

Finding a game when you're visiting

  • Open games: choose your day and see who has already joined, at what level and how many spots are left. Join with one tap. You don't need a partner or a group.
  • Your level: pick the band that matches how you really play, so you land in a game with players close to your level. If you're unsure, take the two-minute level test.
  • Splitting the court: the cost of the court is shared between the players, so you only pay your share.
  • Paying by card: where the club takes online payment, you can pay your share by card. Card, OXXO and SPEI payments carry a processing fee; paying at the club or from your MeetAndPlay wallet does not.
  • If the club cancels or it rains, we refund you automatically.
