Cozumel is an island off the coast of Quintana Roo, known for diving and cruise ships, and padel here lives in a few small clubs that serve both residents and visitors. This guide lists the padel places in our records for Cozumel, says plainly what we do not know, and gives practical advice for booking a court and finding a game, whether you live here or are passing through. We print no prices or opening hours: none are on record.

Padel places in Cozumel

Our records list 2 named places with padel in Cozumel; 0 of them have a padel court count on record, adding up to 0 courts. The count is a minimum, not a census, because new clubs are not mapped until someone records them:

  • Coliseo Padel Club: court count not on record.
  • Padel Island: court count not on record.

Climate and the best hours

Cozumel is hot and humid most of the year, with a sea breeze that helps a little on open courts. The comfortable hours are early in the morning and after sunset, and in the rainy and hurricane season a storm can cancel a game or leave the court wet and slippery.

Ask the club whether its courts are covered, whether it has lights for night play and what its rule is if rain interrupts the slot. In the humidity you sweat a lot: bring more water than you think you need, a towel and a spare shirt. If you arrive on a cruise or on a day trip, leave plenty of margin to get back to the pier before you book a court.

How to book

Booking channels differ by club: a website or app, WhatsApp, Instagram messages or a phone call. Look up the club's own channel first and ask for the court price, the duration of a slot, whether rackets and balls are lent or rented, and the cancellation rule. MeetAndPlay does not take bookings at these clubs; you arrange the court with the club itself.

Evenings fill up first, especially on weekdays after work, so ask a day or two ahead. Mornings and the middle of the afternoon are quieter and often easier to get.

Finding a game in Cozumel

Padel needs four. If you come with a partner, you need another pair; if you are alone, you need three people. On MeetAndPlay you can join an open padel match someone has already posted, or post your own with the club, the time and the level range you want.

Be honest about your level on the app's 0 to 7 scale so the match is even, and say if you are new to the city. If you are completely new to the sport, read our beginner guide to padel first. If you have just moved to Mexico, our guide to finding padel partners as a newcomer applies here too.

If nobody has posted a match that fits, publish one for the next two or three days rather than for tonight: it gives other players in Cozumel time to see it and fill the four spots. Once you have played, keep in touch with the people you met, because a regular group is the easiest way to keep playing every week.

If you have never played padel

Padel is played in doubles on a court about a third smaller than a tennis court, closed by glass or concrete walls at the back and partly on the sides. The scoring is the same as tennis: 15, 30, 40, game, and sets of six games.

The serve is underarm: you bounce the ball and hit it below waist height, diagonally into the opponent's service box, with two tries. After the serve, the ball may bounce once on your side and then hit a wall before you return it. That is the shot that surprises new players the most.

The walls are part of the game, not a mistake. A ball that bounces on the floor and then comes off the back glass is still in play, and letting it come off the wall often gives you more time than hitting it early.

Tennis players adapt fast but tend to hit too hard. Padel rewards patience: high lobs over the opponents, staying at the net with your partner and short swings. The rackets are solid, with no strings.

What to bring

  • Court shoes or tennis shoes, not running shoes: padel is lateral stops and starts.
  • Your racket, or ask the club about rental.
  • Water, and clothes for the weather of the day.
  • A small towel and a spare shirt. Grip and clothes get wet quickly, and a dry shirt makes the trip home more comfortable.
  • Sun protection for the daytime. A cap or visor and sunscreen that resists sweat help on open-air courts, where there is little shade.
  • Your phone, charged. You will want it for the club's booking channel, the map and the match chat with the other players.
  • Spare balls and a grip. Ask the club what it supplies, since some lend balls and some do not, and a fresh overgrip helps when your hands sweat.
  • A little cash. Some clubs take payment at the counter, so confirm how to pay before you go.

In short

Start with the clubs in the list, confirm price, hours and covered courts directly with the club, play in the comfortable hours, and use an open match on MeetAndPlay to find the other players.
