What is an americana?
An americana is a social padel event you sign up for on your own, without a partner. Every round you play with someone new against two other players, and the points your pair wins go onto your personal score. Whoever has the most points at the end wins.
- Format
- It's four players per court, so an americana runs with 8, 12 or 16 players. Each round is a short match, to a fixed number of points or against the clock, and then everyone switches partners.
- Levels
- It works best when levels are close. Every open match (reta) and americana on this page shows its level range: if you're just starting out, look for an open-level one.
- Duration
- With 8 players there are 7 rounds of about 15 minutes, so an americana lasts a little over two hours, plus the warm-up and the prize-giving.
