Where can you play squash in Mexico? There is no official census of courts, so this guide does what can be done honestly: it counts what is recorded in our directory and ranks it by city and by state. Today the directory records 160 squash places, and Ciudad de México leads the list with 40.
The figures come from the same calculations the squash-by-city pages use, so if you open one you will see the same number. They are minimums: there may be more courts than anyone has recorded. If you want the rules of the game, start with our guide to how to play squash; this one is about where to play it.
What you need to play squash
Squash is played in an enclosed court with four walls: a front wall the ball is hit against, two side walls and a back wall, often glass so the game can be watched. A singles court measures about 9.75 by 6.4 metres, which is why it is almost always an indoor space inside a club or sports centre.
You need a squash racket, lighter and with a smaller head than a tennis racket, a small rubber ball and shoes with soles that do not mark the floor. Eye protection is recommended, because the ball travels fast in a closed space. Whether the place rents equipment is something to confirm with the place.
Because each court is a closed room, a club may have just one or several, and a place with squash is not always a big centre. Serving, scoring and the rules are in the guide to how to play squash, which we link at the end.
How to read these numbers
We count two things separately. A place is a club, sports centre or park with at least one squash court; a court is each individual court recorded. Sometimes a place is recorded without anyone knowing how many courts it has, so the courts counted are a minimum and can be fewer than the places. It is not an inventory: it counts what someone has mapped or published.
The data is as of September 25, 2026. It comes from OpenStreetMap, the open map its contributors edit, and from public sources we research place by place, each with its link. They are not clubs verified by MeetAndPlay. We only link cities and states that have at least one place with its own page.
The cities with the most places
Across Mexico the directory records 160 squash places in 62 cities in 19 states, with at least 86 courts counted. Each city in the list links to its page, with the places and a map.

How complete this map is
Squash is a sport with few courts, and they tend to be inside sports clubs and private centres rather than parks. Often the directory knows a place has squash but not how many courts, so in some cities the courts counted are fewer than the places.
Every figure is a minimum. A city that is missing, or low in the list, may have squash courts nobody has recorded yet. Nor do we know, place by place, whether it admits non-members: that is something to ask the club.
How to use this guide
- Look in your city and the neighbouring ones. Metropolitan areas are split across several directory cities, and the nearest court may be in the next one.
- Compare places and courts. A place with a single court is not the same as a centre with several.
- Call before you go. Hours, prices and availability change, and the directory does not guarantee them.
- If a place is missing, tell us. You can ask for it to be added; we only list what has a source.
How to find courts in your city
Each city and state in the lists links to its squash page, with the places, a map and nearby cities. MeetAndPlay is a directory, not a booking service: to reserve an hour you go straight to the place. For squash we offer no partner search, levels or open games; we only show where the courts are.
In short
As of September 25, 2026, the cities with the most squash places in our directory are Ciudad de México, Toluca, and Ecatepec de Morelos. The figures are minimums and are recalculated whenever the directory is updated. Use them to decide where to start looking, and confirm with the place before you go.
