Squash courts in Mexico City: places and areas

How many squash places and courts our directory records in Mexico City, which areas have them, and what to ask the club before you go.

In this guide

Where are the squash courts in Mexico City? There is no official census of sports courts, so this guide counts what is recorded in our directory. For Mexico City and the municipalities around it, that is today 59 places with squash and at least 30 courts counted, spread over 10 directory cities.

We only write an area guide where the directory records at least eight places for the sport, and for squash this is the area that meets it. The figures are minimums: there may be more courts than anyone has noted yet, which is why it pays to confirm with the club before you go.

How many squash courts there are in Mexico City

We count two things separately. A place is a club, sports centre or facility with at least one squash court; a court is each individual court recorded. A club with four courts counts as one place and four courts, and sometimes a place is recorded without anyone knowing how many courts it has, so the courts counted are a minimum.

Here we group Mexico City with the neighbouring directory cities that make up its urban area: 15 in all, of which 10 have at least one squash place. That is our way of reading the directory, not an official metropolitan-area boundary. Across all sports, that same area adds up to 436 places and 805 courts counted; squash in Mexico City is 37% of the 160 squash places the directory records across Mexico.

The data is as of September 25, 2026. It comes from OpenStreetMap, the open map its contributors edit, and from public sources we research club by club. They are not clubs verified by MeetAndPlay.

Areas and municipalities with the most squash

These are the 8 cities or municipalities in the area with the most squash places, with their courts counted:

  • 1. Ciudad de México: places: 40, courts: 20
  • 2. Ecatepec de Morelos: places: 6, courts: 6
  • 3. Naucalpan (Naucalpan de Juárez): places: 4, courts: 0
  • 4. Huixquilucan: places: 2, courts: 1
  • 5. Nezahualcóyotl: places: 2, courts: 0
  • 6. Tlalnepantla de Baz: places: 1, courts: 3
  • 7. Cuautitlán Izcalli: places: 1, courts: 0
  • 8. Nicolás Romero: places: 1, courts: 0

The area with the most places is Ciudad de México, with 40, which is 68% of the squash places in Mexico City; Ecatepec de Morelos follows with 6. When a city shows zero courts, it means it has places recorded but nobody has counted their courts, not that it has none.

Squash is played in sports clubs, private centres and some public facilities, and the directory counts them all alike. If your neighbourhood is not listed, check the neighbouring areas too: in a big city half an hour of travel can change the choice a lot.

What counts as a squash place

Squash is played by two people with a racket and a small rubber ball inside an enclosed court with walls, and that court is unlike the one for any other racket sport. That is why the directory only counts a place when a source marks it as squash, and does not infer it from another sport.

That leaves out two things. A club that has squash but nobody has recorded it does not appear, and a place listed with no court counted adds to the places but not to the courts. So a figure lower than you expected describes the record, not the real supply in Mexico City.

MeetAndPlay has no partner or level matching for squash: here you find where the courts are, and who to play with you sort out with the club or your own acquaintances. We also do not calculate how many courts are public and how many are members-only, because the directory holds that detail for very few places.

Practical tips for playing squash in Mexico City

These tips hold for any club in the area; exact prices and hours are set by each club and change, which is why we do not quote them here.

  • Ask before you go. Many clubs ask you to book the court by the hour, and some only admit members. Call or write to the club and confirm whether a court is free and how it is paid for.
  • Bring the basics. Racket, ball, non-marking soles and eye protection. Ask the club what it can lend you, because each one has its own policy.
  • Warm up before you play. Squash asks for quick starts and stops. A few minutes of mobility work and light jogging before the first point look after the knees and ankles.
  • Confirm before you leave. Hours, prices, availability and whether the club is open that day change. The directory tells you where to look; the club tells you whether there is a court.

How to find your court

Every city in this guide links to its squash page and its courts page, with the places and a map. MeetAndPlay is a directory, not a booking service: to reserve an hour you go straight to the club. If you know of a squash court that is missing, you can ask for it to be added.
