Where are the 7-a-side football pitches in Mexico City? There is no official census of sports pitches, so this guide counts what is recorded in our directory. For Mexico City and its area, that is today 57 places with fútbol 7 and at least 29 pitches counted, in 14 directory cities.
It matters to read the figure correctly: the directory only counts places with explicit evidence of fútbol 7, so it is a floor and not the total of football pitches there are. We only write an area guide where the directory records at least eight places for the sport, which is why some cities have one and others do not.
How many fútbol 7 pitches there are in Mexico City
We count two things separately. A place is a club, sports complex or facility with at least one fútbol 7 pitch; a pitch is each individual pitch recorded. A complex with three pitches counts as one place and three pitches, and sometimes a place is recorded without anyone knowing how many pitches it has, so the pitches counted are a minimum.
Here we group Mexico City with the neighbouring directory cities that make up its urban area: 15 in all, of which 14 have at least one fútbol 7 place. That is our way of reading the directory, not an official metropolitan-area boundary. Across all sports, that same area adds up to 436 places and 805 courts counted; fútbol 7 in Mexico City is 18% of the 310 fútbol 7 places the directory records across Mexico.
The data is as of September 25, 2026. It comes from OpenStreetMap, the open map its contributors edit, and from public sources we research club by club. They are not clubs verified by MeetAndPlay.
Areas and municipalities with the most fútbol 7
These are the 8 cities or municipalities in the area with the most fútbol 7 places, with their pitches counted:
- 1. Ciudad de México: places: 17, pitches: 12
- 2. Chimalhuacán: places: 8, pitches: 5
- 3. Nezahualcóyotl: places: 7, pitches: 3
- 4. Ecatepec de Morelos: places: 7, pitches: 0
- 5. Nicolás Romero: places: 4, pitches: 2
- 6. Naucalpan (Naucalpan de Juárez): places: 3, pitches: 1
- 7. Huixquilucan: places: 2, pitches: 1
- 8. Cuautitlán Izcalli: places: 2, pitches: 0
The area with the most places is Ciudad de México, with 17, which is 30% of the fútbol 7 places in Mexico City; Chimalhuacán follows with 8. When a city shows zero pitches, it means it has places recorded but nobody has counted their pitches, not that it has none.
Fútbol 7 is played in sports complexes, clubs and rental pitches, and the directory counts them all alike as long as there is evidence. If your neighbourhood is not listed, check the neighbouring areas too: in a big city half an hour of travel can change the choice a lot.
Only places with explicit evidence
Fútbol 7 is played with seven players a side on a pitch smaller than the eleven-a-side one, and that difference matters: a football pitch with no further data may be another size. That is why the directory only counts a place when a page or a source says it is fútbol 7.
That leaves out many pitches that do exist. A complex that rents fútbol 7 pitches but nobody has recorded it as such does not appear, and a football pitch recorded with no further data is not counted either. The Mexico City figure is therefore a floor: it describes what can be shown, not everything that is played.
MeetAndPlay has no team, opponent or level matching for fútbol 7: here you find where the pitches are, and you put the team together yourself with people you know. We also do not calculate how many pitches are synthetic turf, covered or lit, because the directory holds that detail for very few places.
Practical tips for playing fútbol 7 in Mexico City
These tips hold for any complex in the area; exact prices and hours are set by each place and change, which is why we do not quote them here.
- Ask the price and the hours. Rental is usually charged per hour of pitch, not per player, and evenings and weekends are the most requested. The guide to how much it costs to rent a fútbol 7 pitch in Mexico explains how it is charged and what to ask.
- Confirm the size and the surface. Ask how many players fit, what the floor is, and whether there are lights for playing at night. Each complex has its own pitches and its own rules of use.
- Arrive with the full team. It is played seven a side, so confirm attendance before booking the hour. If players are missing, tell the complex in good time.
- Confirm before you leave. Hours, prices, availability and whether the pitch is open that day change. The directory tells you where to look; the place tells you whether there is a pitch.
Guides to keep reading
If you want to brush up on how it is played, the guide to the rules of fútbol 7 explains how a match is played, fouls and cards, and why the rules change by league. For the national picture, the guide to fútbol 7 pitches in Mexico compares cities and states, and the guide to how much it costs to rent a fútbol 7 pitch explains how rental is charged. Below you will find the links to the fútbol 7 page of each city in the area.
How to find your pitch
Every city in this guide links to its fútbol 7 page and its courts page, with the places and a map. MeetAndPlay is a directory, not a booking service: to reserve an hour you go straight to the place. If you know of a fútbol 7 pitch that is missing, you can ask for it to be added.
In short
As of September 25, 2026, the directory records 57 fútbol 7 places with explicit evidence and at least 29 pitches in Mexico City and its area, with Ciudad de México in front. These are minimum figures that change every time the directory is updated, and this guide is recalculated with it. Use the numbers to decide where to start, and confirm with the place before you go.
