Top Mexican cities for padel, tennis and pickleball courts

Ranking of the Mexican cities and states with the most places and courts for padel, tennis and pickleball, computed from our directory.

By the MeetAndPlay editorial team · · 9 min read

Which city in Mexico has the most padel, tennis or pickleball courts? There is no official census of sports courts, so this guide does what can be done honestly: it counts what is recorded in our directory and ranks it. In padel Ciudad de México leads with 32 places; in tennis, Ciudad de México with 121; and in pickleball, Ciudad de México with 8.

Every figure comes from the same directory and the same calculations the sport-by-city pages use, so if you open one of them you will see the same number. Each ranking has its date, and the figures are minimums: a city may have more courts than anyone has recorded yet.

How to read these numbers

We count two things separately. A place is a club, sports centre or park with at least one court for the sport; a court is each individual court recorded for that sport. One club with six courts counts as one place and six courts, and sometimes a place is recorded without anyone knowing how many courts it has, which is why a city can have more places than courts. These are minimums, not an inventory: what counts is what someone has mapped or published.

The data is as of September 25, 2026. It comes from OpenStreetMap, the open map its contributors edit, and from public sources we research club by club. They are not clubs verified by MeetAndPlay. Population by state is from the 2020 Population and Housing Census by INEGI; we have no population per city in the directory, so the per-resident figure is by state only.

How to use the ranking

  • Look in your own city first. If yours is not in the top ten, it does not mean there is nowhere to play: it means fewer places are recorded.
  • Compare places and courts. Many places with few courts are parks and small clubs; few venues with many courts are usually large centres.
  • Check neighbouring cities too. Metropolitan areas are split across several directory cities, and the nearest courts may be in the next one.
  • Confirm with the club. Hours, prices and availability change; the directory only tells you where to look.

How to find courts in your city

Every city in the ranking links to its page for that sport, with the places, a map and nearby cities. MeetAndPlay is a directory, not a booking service: to reserve an hour you go straight to the club. If your city is not listed, open the city directory and search for its name; and if you know of a court that is missing, you can ask for it to be added.

In short

The numbers change every time the directory is updated, and this guide is recalculated with it. As of September 25, 2026, Ciudad de México leads in padel, Ciudad de México in tennis and Ciudad de México in pickleball, always with minimum figures. Use the ranking to decide where to start looking, and confirm with the club before you go.

Frequently asked questions

Which city in Mexico has the most padel courts?
According to our directory as of September 25, 2026, Ciudad de México has the most padel places (32), and Ciudad de México has the most padel courts counted (56). These are minimum figures.
And for tennis and pickleball?
In tennis, Ciudad de México has the most places (121) and Ciudad de México the most courts counted (320). In pickleball, Ciudad de México has the most places (8) and Cancún the most courts counted (14).
Where do these figures come from?
From the MeetAndPlay directory as of September 25, 2026: OpenStreetMap and public-source data, counted the same way as the sport-by-city pages. Population by state is from INEGI's 2020 Census.
Why is my city missing, or why does it have few courts?
Because the figures are minimums: they only count courts that someone has recorded. A city with many courts not yet mapped can land low in the ranking. It is not an official measure of how many courts exist.
Why is there no per-resident ranking of cities?
Because the directory has no population per city. We do have it per state, from the 2020 Census, which is why the per-resident figure is by state only.
