Club ladders: joining, challenging and climbing
Bookings
A ladder is a ranking a club runs for one sport. You climb by challenging players who sit above you. The app doesn't book the court or charge anything for this: you and your opponent agree where to play the challenge.
Joining and challenging
- From the club page tap See ladders and, under Open ladders, Join the ladder. You start in the last place and there is no entry fee.
- Tap Challenge on someone above you, up to the reach the club sets (3 places by default). You can have only one open challenge at a time.
- While nobody has answered, you can Withdraw challenge with no consequence.
Deadlines and results
- The challenged player has 72 hours by default (the club can set 12 hours to 7 days) to Accept challenge. If they don't answer or Decline, they lose their place and the challenger takes it.
- If they accept, you have 14 days to play and record the result with I won or I lost, with an optional score. If nobody records it in time, the challenge lapses and nobody moves.
- The other player has 48 hours to Confirm or tap That's not right. If they don't answer, the result stands. If they reject it, the result is cleared and you record it again.
- If the challenger wins, they take the challenged player's place and everyone in between moves down one. If the defender wins, nobody moves.
Rest and leaving
- After playing a challenge, that player rests for 3 days: nobody can challenge them. A rematch between the same two players waits 14 days by default (the club can change it).
- Leave the ladder and you lose your place; if you return, you start from the bottom. You can't leave with an open challenge.
