- Friendly matches and your level
When you create a match you choose its type, and that decides whether the result moves your level.
The three types
- Competitive: the result is recorded and it moves your level.
- Friendly: the result is recorded, but it doesn't affect your level.
- Open play: there's no result to record and no level to move — just play.
Why friendly exists
A friendly match lets you play against anyone you like — stronger, weaker, or just for fun — without risking your level. The result is saved in your match history, but it never enters your level calculation.
Only a competitive match counts toward your level — see the article on how your level goes up or down.
