What is my padel level?

Answer up to six quick questions and get your estimated level on the 0 to 7 scale MeetAndPlay matches use. You don't need an account to see your result.

How we work out your level

We use the same questions and the same scoring as the MeetAndPlay app's level test: how often you play, for how long, whether you compete or take lessons, which shots you've mastered and where you place yourself.

Each answer adds up, and the total is mapped onto the 0 to 7 scale. If you've never played, we skip the questions that don't apply and your result lands at the low end of the scale, which is the right place to start.

The number is a starting point, not a label: in the app your level goes up or down with the confirmed results of your matches.

The five padel level bands

  1. Getting started (0 – 2)

You're just starting out. Look for lessons and matches marked open to beginners.

You're learning to play the ball after it comes off the wall.

  2. Making progress (2 – 3)

You can hold a full point now. Social matches with players around you suit you well.

You defend off the back wall instead of getting stuck against it.

  3. Intermediate (3 – 4)

Your matches are close and tactical. This is the most common level: there's a game here almost any day.

You move to the net with your partner and finish the point.

  4. Advanced (4 – 5)

You set the pace of the point. Look for level-marked matches or amateur tournaments.

You handle the bandeja and work your way out of the wall under pressure.

  5. Competitive (5 – 7)

You compete seriously. Your game is in tournaments and high-level challenges.

You build the point to open a gap and put it away.

Padel level FAQ

What padel level am I if I'm just starting?
If you've been playing for a few months or are in your first lessons, you'll usually be between 0 and 2, the “Starting” band. It's the best place to begin: matches are even and you move up by playing.
Is the test result my official level?
No. It's an estimate so you can find even matches from day one. On MeetAndPlay a level is earned through the confirmed results of your matches, not declared.
How is this different from tournament categories?
Categories (sixth, fifth, fourth…) depend on each tournament or federation. The 0 to 7 scale is for setting up even matches at any club, and the app adjusts it after every match.
Do I have to sign up to see my level?
No. You see your result as soon as you finish the test. If you want to play matches at your level, create your free account and start with that level already chosen.
