What is an americana

An americana is a social padel tournament where nobody has a fixed partner: every round you play with someone new and against two different opponents. Everyone mixes, plays about the same amount, and individual level matters less than in a fixed-pair tournament.

How scoring works

Each round is played to a set time or a fixed number of games (for example, 16 or 24 points). Every player adds up the points their partner scores in each match; at the end, whoever has the most points wins, and point difference breaks ties.

Tips for organizing it

Book one court for every four players. If the number of players is not a multiple of four, someone sits out each round: the generator shares those byes out.

Set a time for each round (15 to 20 minutes) and signal it with a whistle or an alarm, so all courts switch at the same time.

Frequently asked questions

How many players do I need for an americana?
At least four, on one court. Ideally a multiple of four (8, 12, 16) so nobody sits out; the generator accepts 4 to 24 players.
Do partners repeat?
Not during a full rotation: with 8 players, 7 rounds and everyone partners with each other player exactly once. If you ask for more rounds than the rotation, some pairs repeat as little as possible.
Can I save or share the schedule?
Yes. Copy the link so others see the same schedule, copy it as text for WhatsApp, or print it. We do not store names on any server.
